Mother

The day unexpectedly came,
One Ive always dread.
Dad was on the telephone,
Telling me, mum was dead.

Why did she die today?
Oh, life is such a mess.
Why did she pass away?
As though she was worthless.

Sweet memories are all I've got,
The kindness of her embrace.
Gone forever, but not forgot,
Especially her lovely face.

Running about the house,
I'd fallen and cut my knee.
Mum knew what to do,
She'd always tend to me.

I shall miss her very much,
Never shall there be another.
Her sweetness, many did it touch,
The memory of my mother.
